Sweet!

This is made my day:

Government forecasters today predicted a warmer than normal winter,

offering hope to much of the Midwest and West as concern grows about

the rising costs of heating during cold-weather.

This is such beautiful news that I almost cried when I read it. God clearly wants me to survive this, my first Minnesota winter, and I appreciate that.

FYI Genious, that article didn't mention MN as being warmer than normal. And while we do border the Dakotas, you live a few hundred miles away from that part of the state.

Unfortunately for you, a "warmer than normal winter" in MN is still probably much colder than you are used to. 0 degrees in January would be warmer than normal.

FYI Josh, you spelled "genius" wrong. So...yeah. That's kind of ironic.

Anyway, I'm well aware that I'm gonna freeze my balls off. It isn't clear to me why everyone has to take such perverse delight in that fact. Screw you all for relishing my misery.

Actually, last year we had a really warm winter, too. In December we had a couple below-0 days, but for most of January and February the average high was somewhere around the 20s, as I recall. I didn't need more than a sweater and my 200 fleece...but then, I grew up in Michigan.

What else are we going to do in 20-below-zero weather but tease the newbies. Oh wait, hockey's back this year... so maybe this will be it for the "It's su..su..su..so Cah-Cah-Cold here" talk.
